پدرش حال مساعدی نداشت اما می‌گفت کاری مهمی برای کشور و انقلاب نکرده‌است. خودش رزمنده دوران دفاع مقدس بوده‌است و خوب می‌داند جنگ و شهادت یعنی چه. پسر تازه دامادش را در درگیری هنگ مرزی تایباد از دست داده‌است اما لبخند می‌زد. علی شجاعتش را از پدر به ارث برده بود. به گفته حاج غلامحسین، روی خاکش غیرت عجیب داشت و هربار خاطرات جبهه پدر را می‌شنید حسرت نبودنش در آن روزها را می‌خورد. بافنده ی بزرگ می‌گفت پسرش اگر در دوران جنگ بود با شجاعت و غیرتی که داشت حتما فرمانده برجسته‌ای می‌شد. مشغول صحبت بودیم که مادر شهید بافنده با سینی چای به ما اضافه شد. مادرش می‌گفت: علی پسر درس‌خوان و ورزشکاری بود. او احترام عجیبی برای بزرگتر خود قائل بود. می‌گفت خداوند 4 هدیه آسمانی به او داده‌است که یکی از آن‌ها را به زیباترین شکل ممکن از او گرفته‌است و برای این اتفاق سجده شکر می‌کند. علی اهل هیئت بود و هنوزهم ما در جلسات آن هیئت شرکت می‌کنیم.

از او پرسیدم علی به خواب شما می‌آید که پاسخ داد: اینکه می‌گویند شهدا زنده‌اند واقعا درست است. بارها شده‌است گرمای بدنش را کنار خودم حس کردم و وقتی بطرفش برگشتم با جای خالی او روبرو شده‌ام. من درمقابل مادرانی که چند شهید داده‌اند کاری نکرده‌ام و به حال آنان غبطه می‌خورم. پدر هم با حرکت سر حرف‌های همسرش را تایید کرد.

مادر شهید از خوش قولی پسرش خاطره‌ای نقل کرد که بسیار جالب و تکان‌دهنده بود. می‌گفت پسرش یک روز قبل از شهادت خبر برگشتنش را داده بود و روز بعد در همان ساعتی که گفته‌بود جنازه‌اش به خانه برگشت.

از پدر علی پرسیدم آیا حاضر است پسران دیگرش را هم راهی مرزها کند که با قاطعیت جواب داد: بله، چرا که نه؛ ما زنده‌ایم تا وطن را نگه‌داریم.

برادر شهید بافنده هم درباره ویژگی مشترک بین شهدا تاکید کرد: همه شهدا یک شاخصه مشترک و ارزشمند دارند که ولایتمداری است. شاید همین خصوصیت است که به آن‌ها شجاعت بخشیده و به خدا نزدیکشان کرده‌است.

مادر به ویژگی دیگری از شهید اشاره کرد و آن‌هم علاقه پسرش به دعای توسل حرم رضوی بود. شهید بافنده جوری با اشتیاق از حال و هوای حرم و دعای توسل برای مادر تعریف می‌کرد که مادر هوایی حرم می‌شد و با پسر رشیدش راهی بارگاه امام مهربانی‌ها می‌شد.

پدر شهید بافنده به درخواست همسرش منزل خود را در شهر گلمکان برای امور فرهنگی، آموزشی، دینی همچون دارالقرآن، خانه عالم و مرکز گسترش آموزه‌های دینی وقف کرده‌است تا این خانه بازهم شاهد تولد و پرورش مردان بزرگی همچون شهید بافنده باشند.

شهید علی بافنده متولد اردیبهشت‌ماه سال 62 در شهر گلمکان بود که بعلت تولدش در روز میلاد امیرالمومنین مادرش او را علی نام نهاد. او که تنها 5 ماه از زندگی مشترکش گذشته‌بود، در آبا‌ن‌ماه سال 1390در مرز تایباد به درجه شهادت نائل آمد.
