«قدرت هنر»
هنر تا کنون یا کالا بوده است یا ابزاری برای تبلیغات سیاسی که با سقوط اردوگاه کمونیستی باید گفت وجه کالایی آن یکه تازی میکند آن هم با وجود یک سلیقه پسا مدرن که تنوعی رنگارنگ را جار می‌زند.
«بوریس گرویس» در کتاب «قدرت هنر» در بحثهایی شورانگیز درباره هنر، زیبایی شناسی و امر نو، منشا این سلیقه پسا مدرن را بازار معرفی میکند: این سلیقه برآمده از بازار معاصر و برای آن است. از این منظر باید به‌یاد آورد که پیدایش سلیقه خواستار تنوع و تفاوت نسبت مستقیم دارد با پیدایش اطلاعات جهانی‌شده و رسانه‌ها و بازارهای سرگرمی در دهه‌ی 1970 و گسترش این بازارها در دهه‌های هشتاد و نود… تنوع فرهنگی پسامدرن صرفاً نامی مستعار است برای جهان‌شمولی بازارهای سرمایه‌داری. پروژه‌های سیاسی جهان‌شمول و همگون اروپای پیشین از روشنگری گرفته تا کمونیسم جای‌شان را می‌دهند به دسترس‌پذیری جهان‌شمول محصولات فرهنگی ناهمگون که با جهانی‌‌شدن بازارهای اطلاعاتی امروزی تضمین می‌شود…
در اینجا گرویس هوشمندانه به اصطلاح «خصوصی سازی» اشاره میکند و یادآور می‌شود بی‌تردید خصوصی‌سازی بهترین مفهوم برای توصیف روندهایی است که پس از سلب مسئولیت رژیم کمونیستی در روسیه و کلاً در اروپای شرقی رخ داده است اما این کشمکش را صرفاً نباید گذاری دانست که از جامعه‌ای بدون مالکیت خصوصی به جامعه‌ای با مالکیت خصوصی (به‌عقب) می‌رود: عاقبت معلوم می‌شود که خصوصی‌سازی به‌همان اندازه یک برساخت سیاسی مصنوعی است که ملی‌سازی بوده است. همان دولتی که زمانی برای بناکردن کمونیسم به ملی‌سازی مبادرت کرده بود اینک دست‌به‌کار خصوصی‌سازی می‌شود تا بنای سرمایه‌داری را بگذارد. در هر دو مورد مالکیت خصوصی به یک اندازه تابع مصلحت دولت است و بدین‌ترتیب به‌صورت مصنوع و محصول برنامه‌ریزی دولتی جلوه‌گر می‌شود. بنابراین خصوصی‌سازی به‌منزله‌ی رواج (مجدد) مالکیت خصوصی درحکم بازگشت به طبیعت و قانون طبیعی نیست. دولت پساکمونیستی مانند سلف کمونیستی‌اش نوعی چیدمان هنری است.
بنابراین موقعیت پساکمونیستی موقعیتی است که سرشت ساختگی سرمایه‌داری را آشکار میکند چون نشان می‌دهد پیدایش سرمایه‌داری پروژه‌ا‌ی کاملاً سیاسی است با هدف ساختاربندی مجدد جامعه (در روسی: پرسترویکا ) و نه نتیجه‌ی روند «طبیعی» توسعه‌ی اقتصادی. درحقیقت دایرشدن سرمایه‌داری در اروپای شرقی ازجمله روسیه نه پیامد ضرورت اقتصادی بود نه پیامد نوعی گذار تاریخی تدریجی و «طبیعی». به‌عبارتی دقیق‌تر تصمیمی سیاسی گرفته شد تا ساختن کمونیسم به ساختن سرمایه‌داری تغییر کند و برای رسیدن به این هدف (و در هماهنگی کامل با مارکسیسم کلاسیک) تصمیم به پدیدآوردن ساختگی طبقه‌ای از مالکان خصوصی گرفته شد که به بازیگران اصلی این روند بدل شوند. بنابراین موضوع نه نوعی بازگشت به بازار به‌منزله‌ی «وضعیت طبیعی» بلکه آشکارشدن خصلت به‌شدت ساختگی خود بازار است.
گرویس تصریح میکند: هنر پساکمونیستیِ امروز عمدتاً با خصوصی‌شدن یک قلمرو ذهنی و نمادین که از ایدئولوژی شوروی برجا مانده است پدید می‌آید. و از این منظر هنر پساکمونیستی مسلماً به هنر غربی پسامدرنیسم بی‌شباهت نیست؛ چون تملک یا به‌تعبیری خصوصی‌سازی کماکان روش هنری عمده در بستر هنر بین‌المللی معاصر است. امروزه اکثر هنرمندان علاوه‌بر تملک سبک‌های تاریخی مختلف و نمادهای آیینی یا ایدئولوژیک و کالاهای محصول تولید انبوه و تبلیغات فراگیر، به تملک آثار برخی از هنرمندان مشهور نیز دست می‌زنند. هنرِ تملک خودش را هنر پس از پایان تاریخ می‌داند؛ مسئله دیگر تولید فردیِ امر نو نیست بلکه نزاع‌‌‌هایی است بر سر توزیع و بحث بر سر حقوق مالکیت و فرصت فرد برای انباشتن سرمایه‌ی نمادین خصوصی. همه‌ی تصویرها و چیزها و نمادها و سبک‌های تملک‌شده‌ی هنر غربیِ امروزی بدواً به‌منزله‌ی کالا در بازاری گردش داشتند که همواره زیر سیطره‌ی منافع خصوصی بوده است. بنابراین در این بستر به‌نظر می‌رسد هنر تملک عبارت است از هنری تهاجمی و ویرانگر و نوعی سرقت نمادین که در مرز میان امر مُجاز و امر ممنوع حرکت میکند و دست‌کم درصدد توزیع مجدد سرمایه‌ی نمادین و چه‌بسا سرمایه‌ی واقعی است.
