هیات جمهوری اسلامی ایران در سازمان ملل به ادعاهای بی اساس نماینده امارات متحده عربی علیه تمامیت ارضی کشورمان پاسخ داد.

متن پاسخ هیات جمهوری اسلامی ایران به اظهارات نماینده امارات  بدین شرح است: مایلم به ادعاهای بی اساس نماینده امارات متحده عربی علیه تمامیت ارضی کشورم در ارتباط با جزایر ایرانی ابو موسی، تنب کوچک و تنب بزرگ پاسخ دهم. جمهوری اسلامی ایران موضع ثابت و اصولی خود را تکرار می کند که وجود چنین اختلافی بین ایران و امارات را به رسمیت نمی شناسد. این سه جزیره بخش جدایی ناپذیر خاک ایران بوده اند و هر گونه ادعای خلاف آن بطور قاطع رد می شود.

با این وجود، و برای نشان دادن نهایت احترام خویش به اصل حسن همجواری، ایران همواره آمادگی خود را برای گفتگوی دوجانبه با امارات با هدف از بین بردن هر گونه سوء تفاهمی که ممکن است از طرف امارات بر سر جزیره ابو موسی وجود داشته باشد، اعلام کرده است.

همچنین بایستی به نماینده امارات متحده عربی یادآوری شود که عبارت صحیح”خلیج فارس” از 500 سال پیش از  میلاد مسیح  برای اشاره به پهنه آبی  واقع در بین شبه جزیره عربستان و فلات ایران  بکار برده می شده  و این نام آن  تا ابد همین خواهد ماند.
