طی حکمی از سوی شهردار مشهد و به پیشنهاد شورای اسلامی این شهر، مجيد خرمي به عنوان مدير عامل و رئيس هيئت مديره موسسه شهرآرا و مدير مسئول روزنامه شهرآرا منصوب شد.
در این حکم آمده‌است: توجه به سوابق مطبوعاتی و توان اجرایی مرتبط با این حوزه، به موجب این حکم جنابعالی را به عنوان مدیرعامل و رئیس هیئت مدیره مؤسسه فرهنگی شهر آرا و مدیر مسئول روزنامه شهر آرا منصوب می نمایم. بی شک رسانه می تواند نقش بی بدیلی در ارتباط مستمر و مؤثر در تعامل بین مدیریت شهری و شهروندان ایفا نماید.
