معاون پایش و نظارت اداره کل حفاظت محیط زیست خراسان رضوی گفت: سرانه تولید زباله در مشهد 2 برابر استاندارد جهانی و کشورهای پیشرفته است.

محمد عرفانی افزود: هم اکنون به ازای هر فرد در مشهد روزانه 850 گرم زباله تولید می شود در حالی که این میزان در کشورهای پیشرفته 400 تا 450 گرم است.
وی با بیان اینکه کلانشهر مشهد دارای حدود سه و نیم میلیون جمعیت است، اظهار کرد: اگر میزان جمعیت حاشیه نشین این کلانشهر را یک میلیون و 500 هزار نفر در نظر بگیریم روزانه یک میلیون و 275 هزار کیلو گرم زباله فقط در حاشیه این شهر تولید می شود.
وی گفت: به این ترتیب حجم تولید زباله در این کلانشهر بسیار زیاد است و باید برای فرهنگ سازی در این زمینه بیش از پیش تلاش شود.
عرفانی افزود: مردم باید به این حقیقت که حیات انسان در ارتباط مستقیم با حفظ و حیات محیط زیست است، پی ببرند و نقش خود را در حفاظت از محیط زیست ایفا کنند.
وی اظهار کرد: مسایل محیط زیست با مشارکت مردم و نقش آفرینی آنان قابل حل و کنترل است.
کلانشهر 3.5 میلیون نفری مشهد حدود 1.5 میلیون نفر جمعیت حاشیه نشین دارد که بعد از تهران رتبه دوم کشور در این زمینه را داراست.
