پیکر سردار شهید ابوالفضل رفیعی سیج پس از 34 سال از طریق آزمایش ژنتیک شناسایی گردید.
هویت سردار شهید «ابوالفضل رفیعی سیج» جانشین فرمانده لشکر 5 نصر پس از 34 سال از طریق آزمایش DNA شناسایی شد.
سردار شهید «ابوالفضل رفیعی سیج» در 11فروردین 1334 در روستای سیج از توابع شهرستان کلات متولد و در 12 اسفندماه 1362 در حالی که جانشینی فرماندهی لشکر 5 نصر را بر عهده داشت در عملیات خیبر در جزیره مجنون به شهادت رسید و پیکر مطهرش در منطقه باقی ماند و به عنوان شهید مفقودالجسد معرفی شد.
بر اساس اعلام ستاد بزرگداشت شهید رفیعی، با شناسایی پیکر مطهر آن شهید بزرگوار، مراسمی با حضور مردم شهیدپرور مشهد، فرماندهان ارشد نظامی، انتظامی و مسئولان عالی رتبه برگزار خواهد شد که اطلاعات مربوط به زمان و محل برگزاری این مراسم متعاقبا اعلام میشود.
پیکر این پاسدار شهید در 19 اردیبهشت 1390در دانشگاه فردوسی به عنوان شهید گمنام به خاک سپرده شد که پس از 34 سال شناسایی شد.
