در طول تاریخ اسلام، زنان بسیاری بودند که در کنار مردان و گاهی جلوتر و پیشتازتر از آنان در سنگرهای اجتماعی و سیاسی در دفاع از آرمان های انقلاب و ارزش‌های اسلامی حرکت کردند و از جایگاه رفیع ایمان، صبر، شجاعت و اقتدار برخوردار بودند.
حضرت ام البنین سلام الله علیها مادر حضرت عباس علیه السلام در زنده نگاه داشتن و نشر ارزش‌های اخلاقی و دینی و اعتقادی یکی از برجسته ترین بانوان تاریخ جهان اسلام بوده که بی تردید با پیگیری فراز و نشیب های زندگانی او می توان به ابعاد شخصیتی سراسر عشق و ایثار آن بانو بزگوار پی برد. او از طایفه و خاندانی بود که به رشادت، شجاع، شهامت و اخلاق مداری شهره بودند و ازدواج او با امیرالمؤمنین امام علی علیه السلام باعث شد که او به تنهایی به مدرسه ای ازتمام فضیلت های دینی و انقلابی و ولایتمداری مبدل گردد.
ام البنین سلام الله علیها همواره خود را خدمتگزار فرزندان رسول الله می دانست و با معرفت و بی ریا و با تمام وجود عاشقانه همچون پروانه بر گرد شمع وجود فرزندان امام علی علیه السلام می گردید. او در وفاداری، ادب، ولایت پذیری، امام شناسی، شجاعت و شهامت، سخنوری و… کم نظیر بود و در پاسداشت نهضت عاشورا و نمایان ساختن مظلومیت برحق امام حسین (علیه السلام) و یارانش و اعتراض به حکومت مستبدانه و ظالمانه یزیدیان زمان نقش بسزایی داشت.
همیشه واژه ایثار که به میان می‌آید ناخودآگاه نام مادران و همسران شهدا برزبان جاری می‌شود مادرانی که پاره تنشان را بارها از زیر قرآن رد کردند و هربار می‌دانستند که شاید این آخرین دیدار باشد اما نه تنها هیچگاه فرزندانشان را منصرف نکردند بلکه هر بار آن‌ها را برای دفاع از آب و خاک و ناموس و برافراشتن پرچم کشورمان و پیروزی حق بر علیه باطل تشویق می‌کردند.
درست همانند حضرت ام البنین)س)مادر حضرت ابوالفضل(ع) که 4فرزندش را راهی دشت کربلا کرد و خود سرپرستی عروس و نوه‌هایش را برعهده گرفت و زمانی که خبر شهادت فرزندانش را یکی پس ازدیگری برای او آوردند خم به ابرو نیاورد چرا که اين چهار برادر به سفارش ام البنین(س)، فدائي حضرت اباعبدالله‌الحسين(ع) بودند و در واقعه خونين كربلا و در ركاب مولايشان به شهادت رسيدند.
مادران و همسران شهدا نیز همانند حضرت ام البنین فرزندانشان را برای حفاظت از اسلام و ایران اسلامی دادند و هیچگاه خم به ابرو نیاوردند هر چند سالها دوری و چشم انتظاری کشیدند با هر بار شنیدن صدای آژیر و توپ و تانک و اخبار جنگ در دلشان غوغایی به پا می‌شد اما تمام دلشوره‌ها و بیقراریها را در دل نگاه می‌داشتند و فرزندشان را به امام حسین(ع) و بی بی فاطمه زهرا(س) می‌سپردند وهمین آرامشان می‌کرد.
مادرانی که در کنار اسوه صبرو پایداری، ولایت مدار بودند و هنوزهم در صف اول ولایت قرار دارند و بارها گفته‌اند اگر فرزند دیگری داشتیم در راه ولایت فدایشان می‌کردیم؛مادران شهدا همیشه در خط اول راهپیمایی‌ها و تجمعات ولایی هستند و گوش به فرمان ولی فقیه سپرده‌اند از همان روزهای اول انقلاب که در راهپیمایی‌ها و تجمعات ضد نظام شاهنشاهی حضور داشتند تا هشت سال دفاع مقدس که فرزندانشان را راهی جنگ کردند و امروز نیز مادران شهدا در خط مقدم ولایت و انقلاب پایدار و استوار ایستاده‌اند و از خط انقلاب تخطی نکرده‌اند.
هنوزهم هستند مادران و همسرانی که ازخود گذشتند تا فرزندان و همسرانشان در دفاع از حرم حضرت زینب سلام الله علیها را همراهی کنند. حرف‌ها شنیدند، تنهایی‌ها، بیقراریها و دلتنگی‌های زیادی را تجربه کردند اما هیچگاه خم به ابرو نیاوردند چرا که می‌دانستند تمام این سختی‌ها برای محافظت از حرم بی بی زینب(س) است و هرگاه بیقرار می‌شدند به بی بی متوسل می‌شدند و نامش آرام جانشان می‌شد.
برای همین است که مادران و همسران شهدا را اسوه صبرو استقامت و بردباری می‌نامند مادران و همسرانی که از زندگی خود گذشتند تا نام ایران به برکت خون شهدا جاودانه بماند امید که دختران آینده ایران زمین همچون مادران شهدا گذشت، خلوص نیت، فداکاری و صبروبردباری را پشتوانه زندگی خود قرار دهند و این تنها یادگاری از مادرانی است همچون ام البنین (س)که ازخودگذشتند و فرزندانشان را فدای اسلام کردند.
مادران شهدا برای ولایتمداری برای اسلام‌گرایی و پایداری این ملت از جان فرزندانشان گذشتند و انتظار دارند جوانان و نوجوانان امروز راهشان را درعرصه‌های فرهنگی، اجتماعی، سیاست داخلی و خارجی ادامه دهند و نام و یادشان را برتارک تاریخ ایران زنده نگهدارند.
