«پسر من قاتل است»
مجموعه داستان «پسر من قاتل است؟»، نوشته علی براتی گجوان را می‌توان یک مجموعه داستان کوچک اما پرانگیزه دانست که نگاهی به‌شدت انسانی و البته ایرانی به این پدیده داشته است.
براتی گرچه تمامی داستان‌های این مجموعه را با دغدغه جنگ مورد استفاده قرار نداده است و حتی شاید بهتر است بگوییم که او بیشتر دغدغه نقد اجتماعی دارد تا ادبیات، اما توانسته به زیبایی، تکنیک را در خدمت نوشتار خود درآورده و با دور شدن از هر نوع پرگویی و گزافه‌گویی در نهایت حرف خود را با صراحت و باسرعت ارایه کند.
داستان نخست از این مجموعه با عنوان «پسر من قاتل است؟»، نمونه خوبی از صراحت و شجاعت نویسنده در کنار توانایی او برای خلق یک لحظه و آن است. «روحانی‌ای به ملاقات پسرش در زندان می‌رود که به جرم قتل بازداشت شده است.» صرف نظر از چرایی این اتفاق، براتی توانسته با زیبایی و با تکنیک استفاده از دیالوگ‌های بسیار کوتاه اما کوبنده و نیز توصیف دقیق موقعیت در کنار حالات درونی راوی، فضای داستانی زیبایی خلق کند. این مساله در دومین داستان این مجموعه نیز تکرار شده و نویسنده توانسته مخاطبش را توامان درگیر حالات شخصیت محوری (پیرزن) داستان و نجواهای درونی او با خود، پسرش و موقعیتی کند که در حال روایت آن است.
به عبارت دیگر این‌طور به‌نظر می‌رسد که نویسنده این داستان‌ها را نوشته تا دستمایه‌ای برای خلق موقعیت‌های داستانی بلند فراهم کند.
